Back to a regular pace...

Well, as some of you may know our season has ended for Leave it to Bryan and we are not filming at the moment.   This is normal...we usually have a break between seasons and I start to feel like "good Mom" again.  I'm less distracted, more focused on what is going on in the lives of my girls and I have a slightly tidier house, with more home-cooked meals.   And I get to make home-made Valentine gifts for their daycare friends and my family.   In reality, I don't think they really notice a difference between my states of "Mom" - it is more of a difference that I feel.   And then when I start getting sick of being home too much and not talking to adults enough our season starts rolling again.   I am lucky to have the best of both worlds...and a wonderful husband to help keep the balance in our lives.  Happy early Valentine's Day everyone!

Kitchen Art

Just wanted to share an idea that I used in a kitchen renovation on Disaster DIY way back in Season 2.  It was one of my favourite kitchens not only because the homeowners were great, but because I got to use turquoise and red together.    I wanted to do something meaningful for them, so I decided to take photos of her extensive antique egg beater collection and created some unique art for them.  Here are some more...can you guess what kitchen it is in the Picture Gallery?

Pinterest

I think I'm a little late to Pinterest, but, that doesn't mean I can't go on about it.   It's amazing.   In fact, it's so great it's almost overwhelming.   There is so much to look at and repin.   And I can't believe how quickly things get repinned!    I have started a few boards, so have a look at my Pinterest page.  It's still fairly minimal, but it won't take me long to overload those boards.   You should see my magazine tear sheets! I'll never give those up no matter how much I love Pinterest...

IDS 2012

Had a great time at the Interior Design Show 2012 in Toronto, Ontario. It was a great show and it was especially good to attend with my friend Sandra and Luca - we miss you already!

Anyway, not surprisingly the Studio North section was my favourite - can you believe this was its' 10th anniversary? I couldn't.   Maybe I am slightly biased, but, I'm really partial to so much of what Canadian Designers are doing.   Great work!  I look forward to it each year....
